Day 01 Arrive to Habarana Village
  • On arrival you will be met and welcomed by our representative and transferred to Habarana.
  • Munneshwaram Kovil located in the town of Chilaw, and this is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed to be one of the five temples consecrated by Lord Rama, and it holds great religious importance for devotees of the Ramayana.
  • According to legend, Manavari is the place where Lord Rama installed a lingam (a symbol of Lord Shiva) to absolve himself of the sin of Brahma Hatya (the act of killing a Brahmin, which occurred during the battle against Ravana). It is said that Lord Rama entrusted Lord Hanuman with the task of bringing a lingam from Mount Kailash in the Himalayas. However, Hanuman was unable to return within the specified time, so Sita created a smaller lingam from sand, which Lord Rama consecrated at Manavari.
  • Sigiriya While not directly mentioned in the Ramayana, Sigiriya, also known as the Lion Rock, is believed to be associated with Ravana. It is said to be one of his magnificent palaces and fortresses. The iconic rock fortress offers panoramic views and showcases ancient frescoes and intricate architecture.
Day 02 Explore Trincomalee
  • Trincomalee, often referred to as Trincomalee, is a coastal city located on the northeastern coast of Sri Lanka. It is renowned for its natural beauty, pristine beaches, historical significance, and cultural diversity.
  • This coastal city is home to the iconic Koneswaram Kovil, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located on Swami Rock overlooking the sea, the temple holds great religious and historical significance. Its stunning architecture, intricate stone carvings, and vibrant religious ceremonies make it a must-visit site.
  • Trincomalee is famous for its natural hot springs located in Kanniya, just a short distance from the city. The hot springs are believed to have healing properties and are a popular spot for relaxation and therapeutic baths.
Day 03 Nuwaraeliya… Where the Ashok Vatika is
  • The Hanuman Temple is situated amidst the picturesque landscape of Ramboda, surrounded by scenic hills, lush tea plantations, and cascading waterfalls. The tranquil environment adds to the spiritual ambiance of the temple.
  • A visit to a tea factory is a highlight of the tour. Here, you’ll get an inside look at how tea leaves are processed and transformed into the final product. Knowledgeable guides will walk you through the various stages, from withering and rolling to fermentation and drying. You’ll learn about the different types of tea, the grading process, and the art of tea tasting.
  • Seetha Amman Temple: Located in the village of Seetha Eliya, about 20 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya, the Seetha Amman Temple is dedicated to Sita, the consort of Lord Rama. It is believed to be the spot where Sita was held captive by Ravana. The temple is adorned with colorful frescoes depicting scenes from the Ramayana.
  • Hakgala Botanical Garden: Situated on the slopes of Hakgala Rock, near Nuwara Eliya, Hakgala Botanical Garden is associated with the legend of the Ramayana. It is believed to be the place where Ravana’s Ashoka Vatika (garden) was located, where Sita was kept during her captivity.
  • The Location of Gayathri Peetam is significant. Gayathri Siddhar chose this place because it was a spiritual revelation and also it was confirmed by Maharishi Sivabalayogi Maharaj. It is believed that the Tri Moortis – Siva, Brahma and Vishnu, appeared here when prince Mahenadan also known as Indrajit – The son of an ancient Sri Lankan King Ravana Performed Siva Thapas and Nikumbala Yagna.
Day 04 Ella Town… Ravana Cave and Iconic Ravana Waterfall
  • Divurumpola Temple: Divurumpola Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple located near Ella, approximately 30 kilometers away. It is believed to be the location where Sita, the consort of Lord Rama, underwent the “Agni Pariksha” (test of fire) to prove her purity and fidelity. Divurumpola is considered a significant place for devotees and is visited by many people seeking blessings for successful marriages and relationships. The temple attracts visitors from different religious backgrounds.
  • In Ella town, there is a place associated with the Ramayana called Ravana Ella Falls. Ravana Ella Falls is a beautiful waterfall located near Ella, Sri Lanka. According to local legends and folklore, it is believed that this waterfall is connected to the Ramayana story.As per the legend, Ravana, the king of Lanka, had a palace nearby and it is said that he used the caves behind the waterfall to hide the captive Sita. It is believed that Sita used to bathe in the pool formed by the waterfall during her captivity. The name “Ravana Ella Falls” is derived from this association with the Ramayana.
  • Ravana Cave is a popular tourist attraction destination located in Ella. However, it is important to note that the connection to Ravana is purely based on local folklore and legends rather than historical evidence. The cave is believed to have been used by King Ravana from the Ramayana as a hiding place. It is a small cave located on a hill and offers a scenic view of the surrounding area. While the association with Ravana is not historically verified, many visitors still find the cave intriguing due to its connection to the Ramayana.
Day 05 Lord Murugan Temple
  • “Wadasiti Kanda” is commonly known as “Wedihiti Kanda” is situated in Katharagama, Southern Province in Sri Lanka. According to the legendary Wadasiti Kanda got its name because of the God Murugan (God Katharagama) was lived in that mountain with his wife Goddess Valli.
  • One day the God Katharagama said to his followers that he will bow an arrow and said to construct a “Dewalaya” in the place which the arrow dropped.  That is how the “Katharagama Dewalaya” built in the present place.  The means of “Dewalaya” is temple dedicated to a deity.
  • Kataragama is a significant religious destination, particularly for Hindu and Buddhist devotees. The main Kataragama temple complex is dedicated to the deity Kataragama, also known as Lord Murugan. The Sella Katharagama Dewalaya is a subsidiary shrine or devale associated with this main temple.
  • The Sella Katharagama Dewalaya is believed to be the original ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan, predating the larger and more prominent temple complex. It is a smaller and more intimate place of worship, often visited by devotees seeking blessings and spiritual experiences.
Day 06 Ussangoda and Rumassala Mountain
  • Ussangoda is a coastal area situated in the Hambantota District, near the town of Ambalantota. It is characterized by a distinctive reddish-brown soil and barren landscape, which makes it stand out from the surrounding lush greenery. Ussangoda is known for its natural beauty and cultural significance. According to local legends, it is believed to be the site where Hanuman, a prominent character from the Ramayana, landed after his leap across the ocean to Lanka in search of Sita.
  • Rumassala is a small hill situated along the southern coast of Sri Lanka, just a few kilometers from Galle Fort. It is known for its lush greenery, panoramic views of the ocean, and its association with local legends and folklore.
  • According to local belief, Rumassala is said to be a part of the mythical mountain range known as Himalaya, carried by the monkey god Hanuman while he was searching for the herb “Sanjeevani” during the Ramayana. It is said that a piece of the mountain fell at Rumassala, giving the hill its unique shape and significance.
Day 07 Commercial Capital Colombo..
  • The Sri Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple is located in Dehiwala, a suburb of Colombo. It is a significant place of worship for devotees of Lord Hanuman. The temple is known for its grand architecture and the presence of a large statue of Lord Hanuman with five faces (Panchamuga), which is considered a unique feature of this temple.
  • In relation to the Ramayana, Kelaniya Temple is associated with the story of Vibhishana, the brother of the demon king Ravana. Vibhishana, after realizing the righteousness of Lord Rama, sought refuge with him and became a devoted ally. It is believed that Vibhishana’s coronation as the king of Lanka took place at Kelaniya Temple.
  • The temple houses a shrine dedicated to Vibhishana, where devotees pay homage to him. The shrine is adorned with colorful paintings and sculptures depicting scenes from the Ramayana.
